About the artist...
Austin Barry was born July 10th 1982 in the heart of the Bronx, NY. At an early age he showed great passion for music. He was active in his church choir group from the start. He continued singing and performing throughout his childhood and participated in multiple shows, performances and church gatherings. Austin's teachers had told his mother that he was a "shining star up and coming".
Austin's passion for music followed him to high school (La Salle Academy) where he rose to the top as both a performer and vocalist. He recieved numerous recognitions and awards for his talents. Austin took his talent to the next level when he matriculated into the prestigious Adelphi University performing arts program. He was able to train with world renowned composers and theatrical coaches. His career started to develop at this time as he released numerous singles that were featured on "Americas Greatest Hits" CD collection. Austin was invited to numerous venues in the theatre district to do solo performances.
Eager to further his career and education he was accepted into the highly sought after Five Towns Musical Arts Masters Program. Austin gained tremendous knowledge and critique by some of the most highly acknowledged professors in the business today.
Austin's dream began to turn into a reality when he launched his first album "Austin Barry - The Beginning". The album featured his very own tracks such as "The Very Thought of You", "1,2,3" and of course one of his all time requested hits "Home".
Austin is currently working with various producers on different projects. He can still be found giving back to his roots, performing in local shows and sold out performances. Austin is cross trained in various genres and instruments but feels that his focus is R&B, swing, big band, pop and musicals. In recent reviewes Austin Barry has been said to be "A young Luther Vandross that has the ability to spread his music over multiple generations!", "He is a rising star on a platform all his own", "It is nice to know that there are still voices like this that exist today!"
Austin currently resides in Bronx, NY when he is not on tour. He enjoys bowling, hanging out with friends and spending time with his family. In a recent interview on Brofka Nation Austin has stated he is single and still looking for that special someone.
